The Spring Clean took place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd to 5th. The event was promoted by Woodbridge Town Council with posters around town, items in the free local press and emails to local schools and organisations. Information was posted on the website of Transition Woodbridge and given at Woodbridge and Deben W.I meetings. Litter picking equipment was supplied by Suffolk Coastal Norse who also collected the bags of litter from the litter picking assembly points.
Woodbridge Town Council is aware that the Jubilee Clock located in the Thoroughfare, Woodbridge has currently stopped working and is awaiting a service engineer.
Over the winter months flooding can cause persistent and damaging issues for local communities. Despite the disruption this can cause, it can also be quite difficult to know who to report flooding to since there can be a number of different organisations (known as flood risk management authorities) who might have responsibility or involvement in an incident.
As part of its support for the country’s biggest-ever community clear up the Town Council is seeking volunteers to take part in organised litter-picks on 3rd - 5th March

You may have already seen information in the press that the Chief Veterinary Officer has declared a Prevention Zone to help protect poultry from a strain of Avian Flu in Europe. This now requires keepers of poultry and other captive birds across England to keep their birds indoors, or take appropriate steps to keep them separate from wild birds. Information on the new measures can be found here. Poultry keepers are advised to be vigilant for any signs of disease in their birds and any wild birds, and seek prompt advice from their vet if they have any concerns.
