Woodbridge Remembrance Day Services

The Town Mayor, Councillor David Mortimer invites members of the public to join him at the following Remembrance Services:

Thursday 8th November - 10.45am at the New Cemetery

Friday 9th November - 10.45am at the War Memorial

Sunday 11th November - 10.45am at the War Memorial

(Followed by open air service on the Market Square)

The War Memorial is situated in the Garden of Remembrance on Market Hill and contains a marble and stone inscribed memorial and a stone carving of Queen Victoria. The Memorial is in the form of a Latin Cross on an octagonal column resting on a plinth with a three stepped base. There are 133 names for WW1 and 56 for WW2. In 1998 a group of volunteer researchers formed the Woodbridge War Memorial project to find out all they could about the men whose names appear on the War Memorial. The work was recorded in a file and presented to the Town on St George's Day in 1999, where it may be consulted in the Shire Hall during office hours.
