Woodbridge Library is now open on Mondays and Sundays again!

Our opening hours are 10am-4pm on Mondays, 9.30am to 5pm on Tuesdays, 9am to 5pm Wednesdays to Saturdays and 10am-1pm on Sundays.

A limited number of people are now allowed inside the Library to browse; the computers are available (pre-booking is essential) as are the printing and photocopying services. The staff will do the browsing for you if you wish: the Select & Collect service is still in operation and, of course, you can still reserve books online yourself.

All these arrangements are contingent on the government’s plans going ahead as scheduled. You can always get the latest information at https://www.suffolklibraries.co.uk/coronavirus.

Items can be returned to Woodbridge Library outside opening hours via the book drop box. To contact the library, phone 01394 330855 or send an email to woodbridge.library@suffolklibraries.co.uk.

There is a sale of withdrawn books in the Library foyer. Adult fiction is available at 30p per book or four for £1; non-fiction books are priced individually; junior books are 20p each. These are real bargains!

Also please note that we now have supplies of Covid-19 Self-Test kits that you can collect from the library.

Online musical performances

The FOWL Events Group invites you to get back into the mood for live events in the Library (beginning again, we hope, in September) by watching and listening to two online performances.

Harpist Zoe Anderton has compiled a delightful, 15-minute recital especially for FOWL. This is live now on YouTube and culminates in a very recent popular composition about a famous Suffolk landmark.

Regular attenders at FOWL’s Tuesday lunchtime recitals will remember The Beech Duo of violinist Jan Halen and guitarist Nigel Tuffs. As well as the violin, Jan plays the loopstation enabling her to play original compositions mimicking a full orchestra. Nigel is a guitarist, composer and teacher. Jan and Nigel invite you to tune in to a half-hour programme of dance music down the ages which they recorded for St Edmundsbury Cathedral as part of its lunchtime recital series during lockdown. Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0NkJO4yQfk.

Customer service for Suffolk Libraries is available Mon-Fri 9-5pm, closed bank holidays. Leave a message out of these hours.
