The New Street Almshouses is a small housing Charity which was formed from other charities dating from 1787. We provide 3 dwellings in New Street, Woodbridge at an economic rent to citizens of Woodbridge over the age of 50. All units are at present occupied.
Under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 local authorities can implement Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) to control the traffic in their area in some way, e.g. restrict HGVs in residential areas, prohibit parking on specific streets or close a road for an event.

R G Carter builders will be undertaking works on the gas mains on Tide Mill Way on Saturday 9th September. This will involve cutting the road and installing a new gas service.
On Friday 8th September the Tour of Britain enters Suffolk with Stage 6 taking place between Newmarket and Aldeburgh. Beginning at 11:00 the course takes riders through Bury St Edmunds, Ixworth, Stradbroke, Framlingham and Wickham Market before passing through Woodbridge via Sandy Lane, Cumberland Street, Station Road, Quayside, Lime Kiln Quay Road and Melton Hill on the way to Aldeburgh via Snape and Saxmundham.
The Drummer Boy statue, much loved by the people of Woodbridge, was yesterday safely removed from it's home of 33 years on Melton Hill in order to be transported to specialist restoration facility. Once restored he will be relocated to the Market Hill.
Thanks to a donation from the Woodbridge Lions Club Woodbridge Town Council have been able to purchase and install a new play boat in Elmhurst Park to replace the well used but slightly tired climbing frame.

The Woodbridge Town Council planning committee met on Tuesday 18th July 2017 to discuss, amongst other applications, the re-development of the former Suffolk Coastal District Council offices on Melton Hill (Planning application DC/17/2840/FUL).
New Street will be closed on Monday 10th July between 06:00 - 18:00 to allow for repairs on the Bell and Steelyard weighbridge. The closure will be between Seckford Street and St Johns Hill as shown on the maps below.
