Following on from the Council’s investment in Kingston Field during this financial year, which saw a new pedestrian bridge, enhanced play equipment and (being installed during January) a new hard-surfaced pathway, the Council is considering making substantial investment in Elmhurst Park.
In conjunction with East Suffolk Council’s bid to the Government’s Changing Places Toilet Fund, this Council is considering allocating £20,000 to enable such a facility to be provided in Elmhurst Park. In addition, the Council is considering upgrading the existing toilets, and increasing the range of fully-accessible children’s play equipment. Funding is also being allocated for a sensory garden.
Whilst unable to find additional land for new allotments the Council is considering the creation of a community garden, and having already jointly-funded design work on a 20mph scheme for Woodbridge, is likely to fund its installation.
Inevitably there is likely to be a small increase in Council Tax, to cover these major works as well as inflation; this is currently forecast as less than 20p per week for a Band D household.
