Woodbridge Town Council were extremely sad to hear news of the passing of our former Councillor and dear friend, Mr Les Binns.

Les was our Mayor three times, 2001-2, 2008-9 and 2009-10, as well as serving three terms as a Town Councillor. Proffessionally, Les was an Executive Director of Nursing for the NHS Trust.

He continued to visit Town Council staff regularly and worked with us to design flower beds in Elmhurst Park, with his final gift to the town being 24 roses planted in memory of his wife Sylvia, which can be seen in Scouts Corner, Elmhurst Park, in 2018.

Notice from the East Anglian Daily Times, 16.08.19.

Les passed away on August 5, 2019, aged 88 years. Devoted husband of the late Sylvia, loving father of Steve and Mark and a much loved grandad to his five grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral service to be held at St. Mary's Parish Church, Woodbridge on Friday, August 30 2019, at 11.00 a.m. Followed by a private family committal. Family flowers only please, but donations, if desired, made payable to St. Mary's PCC, Woodbridge, may be sent to East of England Co-operative Funeral Services, 26 Quayside, Woodbridge, IP12 1BH.
