Elmhurst Park kitchen garden - Call for lease applications returns
Published 25 June 2025
Woodbridge Town Council (WTC), as sole trustee owns and manages Elmhurst Park in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Located within the park but behind closed doors, is the Elmhurst Park kitchen garden.
Essentially a walled garden, the site has been utilised by the Woodbridge Growers as a community garden since 2011. The lease for the site is due to expire on December 31st, 2025, therefore WTC are seeking expressions of interest for the use of the facility from January 1st, 2026.
In order to adhere to the Council’s Financial Regulations, WTC cannot consider the lease of any part of its estate without a business case/application provided by potential partners.
In order to guide the Council’s decision making and to ensure that the Council makes responsible use of its property, WTC wish to understand the level interest from local organisations/ charities for the use of this community facility as a kitchen garden/ food production area and hence are seeking Lease Application Returns from interested parties.
The Council asks that potential partners complete the Lease Application Return document, which is provided below in Word and PDF.
The deadline for returns to be submitted is noon on Sunday 31st August.
