This is now all too topical. Helene has been gathering data for many years, working with the Bawdsey Beach Monitoring Team and the Deben Marine Centre which she supports along with Simon Read, trustee of the Deben Estuary Partnership.
The volunteer Bawdsey Beach Monitoring Team have been surveying beach levels at the rear of Bawdsey Beach since 2013, and added the Deben Inlet shoreline to the monitoring programme in 2016. Back of beach levels are measured weekly. Data are updated at the end of each month and displayed on their website.
Information is made available to the public at the Deben Marine Centre, (the old ferry waiting room at Bawdsey).
Helene delivers a fascinating talk followed by the opportunity for questions from the audience.
Helene's talk will begin at 7:30pm, with wine, soft drinks and nibbles available from 7pm - the evening is free to members, £5 to non-members.
