Update - Network Rail level crossing closures
Published 9 December 2022
We have received the following update from Network Rail regarding the proposed closures of level crossings in Woodbridge.
I’m writing to update you on work we’ll shortly be carrying out along the East Suffolk line. As mentioned in our previous letters, we’ll be replacing track along the railway from near Bealings level crossing (approx. postcode IP13 6LT) to Sun Wharf level crossing (approx. postcode IP12 1AZ).
Amended timetable of level crossing closures
We understand that temporary closures of level crossings can cause local disruption to carry out vital track renewal work. In a change to previously published dates, the level crossings at Ferry Lane and Haywards in Woodbridge will remain open in the run up to Christmas which should help minimise the impact on Christmas trade for local businesses. I’ve copied below a graphic illustrating the level crossing closures for the remainder of the year only.
The work to renew the track will continue as previously notified, so some noise disruption is likely. The level crossing closures in 2023 will be replanned, and I’ll write to you again with these new dates when known.
I’m sorry for changing these arrangements at short notice. But I hope it’s welcome that the Ferry Lane and Haywards level crossings won’t be closed before Christmas.
