Love Woodbridge & Melton Newsletter July 2023
Published 11 July 2023
In Partnership with East Suffolk Council, Woodbridge Town Council and Melton Parish Council, Suffolk County Council (SCC) wants to create people friendly streets in Woodbridge and Melton for everyone to enjoy. Whether you are walking, cycling, scooting or sitting down to enjoy the surroundings, SCC wants to give everyone the opportunity to love the outside more with cleaner, prettier and better-connected streets in Woodbridge and Melton.
This is how the Love Woodbridge and Melton project came about!
SCC has so far been successful in securing over £5 million in funding from Active Travel England to develop walking and cycling schemes for the project. The team at Suffolk County Council will continue to bid for further funding for the project.
Alongside the development of the infrastructure changes SCC will also be delivering a series of engagement activities for residents, businesses, community groups and school pupils and parents to find out more about the Love Woodbridge and Melton project and to discuss how we can help encourage more people to get out and about and enjoy the local area on foot and by bike.
Our next engagement event will be in Whisstock Place in Woodbridge on Thursday 10th August from 10am until 2pm. We hope it goes as well as the Melton Village Fete; it was lovely to see so many of you there and thanks for all your feedback.
Please do come along and see us on 10th August in Woodbridge. You can find out more about the Love Woodbridge and Melton project, there is a colouring competition for children, there will be some electric bikes to have a look at and we will have our Dr Bike service offering FREE MOTs and minor repairs, so bring along your bike!!
