Potter Community Cup Winner 2022

The Potter Community Cup is awarded to a Person or Organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to the life, or name of the town during the preceding twelve months. Councillor Patrick Gillard, the Town Mayor presented Brenda Jackson with the Cup at Town Council last night further to her nomination following her work at the New Horizons Club:

In the last year the New Horizon Club for over 55s has moved out to the Cricket and Sports and Social Club at  the old St. Audrey’s Social Club in Melton.  I would like to nominate Brenda Jackson for all the organising and tireless work she has put into our club, arranging transport for members, tea/coffee and biscuits when we arrive, and board games in the mornings.  Then,  after  a fantastic lunch (from our own cook) Brenda will have organised entertainment for the afternoons (a slideshow, live singer or band, bingo or a quiz, etc.

We have some volunteer car drivers and helpers at the Club to assist us.  Brenda recently took a bit of a backseat but unfortunately the other lady has had to leave so the responsibility is falling back onto Brenda’s shoulders.

Obviously we are again looking for an assistant for Brenda.
